🛒 Purchasing Guidelines ▼
Buy directly from Canaan Avalon with a documented order, approved payment instructions, and serial-linked after-sales support.
Before placing your order
- Confirm the exact hardware: Review the model, hashrate, power consumption, voltage, cooling method, noise, dimensions, release or batch status, and the selected quantity. ASIC performance and mining income are estimates and can change with network difficulty, asset price, pool performance, electricity cost, and operating conditions.
- Prepare a suitable installation: The Customer is responsible for compatible electrical capacity, wiring, grounding, network access, ventilation or approved liquid cooling, and operation within the published environmental limits.
- Retail and wholesale: Online retail checkout covers orders of up to 10 devices. Orders of 11 devices or more must use the Wholesale Quote service so commercial pricing, availability, customs responsibility, and logistics can be confirmed in writing.
Price, payment, and order confirmation
- Displayed price: Prices are stated in USD unless the page expressly shows another currency. The product price, selected options, shipping arrangement, and any applicable discount are shown before the order is submitted.
- Approved payment methods: Payment is accepted only through the methods enabled at checkout: Bank Transfer & Bitcoin. Use only the payment instructions generated for your order. Canaan Avalon will never ask for wallet passwords, seed phrases, private keys, or remote access to approve a payment.
- When an order becomes confirmed: An unpaid order does not reserve stock. The order is confirmed after cleared bank payment or the required blockchain confirmation. The USD order value and applicable exchange rate are then locked for that paid order and are not adjusted because of later market movement.
- Invoice and account record: The paid order, invoice, status, and available documents are stored in the Customer account. Keep the order number and use the same account for tracking and support.
Device registration and included support
- Automatic serial registration: A device sold by the official Canaan Avalon store is linked to its order and serial record when the unit is allocated or dispatched. This record is used for warranty verification, service history, and compatible firmware access.
- Official-store benefits: Eligible hardware includes the recorded 365-day warranty and lifetime access to compatible official firmware updates released during the supported service life of the model.
Changes, cancellation, and refunds
- Address and contact details: Check the consignee name, full address, postal code, email, and telephone number before payment. Contact Support immediately if a correction is required; a change cannot be guaranteed after packing or dispatch begins.
- Cancellation before dispatch: A hardware order may be cancelled for a full refund before packing or dispatch begins. Once preparation or dispatch has started, eligibility depends on the order status, incurred logistics, and mandatory consumer law.
- Approved refunds: Refunds are initiated within seven business days and normally return through the original payment method. Bank payments are not refunded in Bitcoin, and Bitcoin payments are not refunded by bank transfer.
🛡️ Warranty Policy ▼
Official-store hardware is serial-registered and supported through a traceable warranty and repair process.
Coverage for devices purchased from Canaan Avalon
- Warranty period: Eligible new hardware carries a 365-day limited warranty beginning on delivery for shipped hardware or activation for hosted hardware, unless the product page or a written agreement states a different period.
- What is covered: Verified manufacturing defects, unexplained internal component failure not caused by the Customer, documented delivery damage, and hardware received non-operational are assessed for covered service.
- Available resolution: Depending on the technical findings, Canaan Avalon may provide remote diagnosis, an approved part, component repair, full-unit repair, or an equivalent replacement. The appropriate resolution is determined by inspection; a specific remedy is not guaranteed before diagnosis.
- Firmware entitlement: Official-store devices receive lifetime account access to compatible official firmware updates made available during the supported service life of the model, without an external-device firmware registration fee.
How to request warranty or repair service
- Use Warranty Check or Serial Support to review the recorded device status.
- Sign in and submit a Repair Request with the serial number, model, symptoms, operating conditions, logs, screenshots, photographs, and order information requested.
- Follow the remote diagnostic or evidence instructions. Do not open, alter, or ship the device unless Support authorizes the next step.
- If shipment is required, use only the return destination, authorization reference, packaging method, and customs documents provided in the case.
Repair timing and shipping responsibility
- Repair target: An eligible warranty repair is targeted for completion within 10 business days after the authorized service location receives and diagnoses the hardware. Shipping time, customs, parts availability, and complex faults may extend the total case time; the Customer will receive an update if the target cannot be met.
- Inbound shipment: The Customer pays to send an authorized warranty return to the service location stated in the case.
- Return after accepted warranty service: Canaan Avalon pays standard return delivery after a covered repair or replacement. Accepted warranty service has no diagnosis, labor, or covered-parts charge.
Important exclusions
Free warranty service does not cover a fault caused by unauthorized hardware or firmware modification, overclocking or altered voltage, unsuitable power or grounding, incompatible parts, inadequate airflow or cooling, operation outside published environmental limits, liquid, corrosion, impact, fire, surge, lightning, pests, misuse, removed or altered serial identification, or damage caused by inadequate Customer return packaging. An unrelated modification does not void coverage unless it caused the fault or prevents reliable diagnosis.
After warranty or for externally sourced devices
A $49 remote diagnostic service may be offered for expired-warranty devices and devices not purchased and registered through the official store. If physical paid repair is approved, the diagnostic fee is credited against the repair charge; approved freight, parts, and labor remain the Customer’s responsibility. Completed diagnostics are not refundable, including when the problem is resolved remotely.
✈️ Shipping Policy ▼
Each shipment is linked to the Customer order, packed for international transit, and followed through its recorded dispatch and tracking status.
Dispatch and delivery estimates
- Dispatch is not delivery: A batch or dispatch date is the estimated date the order will leave the assigned facility. The delivery estimate begins after dispatch and is shown separately where available.
- Stock and production batches: In-stock orders enter preparation after cleared payment. Pre-orders and production-batch products follow the release window displayed on the product page or confirmed in the order.
- Possible delays: Carrier capacity, customs inspection, remote-area service, severe weather, public holidays, regulatory review, or events outside reasonable control can extend an estimate. A delay does not change the Customer’s right to receive the paid order or an applicable remedy.
Packing, carrier, and tracking
- Preparation: The assigned unit is checked, its serial is associated with the order, and it is packed using protective materials suitable for the hardware and transport method.
- Carrier selection: Canaan Avalon selects a suitable tracked carrier or freight service according to destination, shipment size, available service, and handling requirements. The dispatch origin and carrier are identified in the order record when assigned.
- Tracking: The tracking reference is added to the Customer account and may also be sent by email after carrier collection. Use Track Order for the latest status recorded by the website.
Import duties, taxes, and customs
- Retail orders up to 10 devices: Import duties, taxes, and customs-clearance charges are handled by Canaan Avalon as part of the retail delivery arrangement, unless a different written arrangement is clearly accepted before payment.
- Orders of 11 devices or more: These are commercial orders. Import duties, taxes, customs clearance, consignee requirements, and delivery responsibilities are confirmed through the Wholesale Quote service and remain the Customer’s responsibility unless the quotation expressly states otherwise.
- Customer cooperation: The Customer must provide accurate consignee and contact information and reasonably cooperate with lawful carrier or customs requests. Canaan Avalon uses the actual item description, invoice value, and applicable customs classification and will not submit a false value or misleading description.
Loss, damage, and delivery evidence
- Inspect on arrival: Check the outer carton, seals, labels, and hardware as soon as delivery is received. Photograph any visible damage before opening where possible.
- Reporting deadline: Report visible transit damage within 48 hours and concealed damage or missing contents within 7 days. Keep the carton, internal packaging, shipping label, device, and all accessories while the claim is reviewed.
- Required evidence: Provide the order number, tracking reference, serial number, clear photographs of every side of the carton and device, packaging photographs, and an unpacking video when available.
- Accepted claim: Canaan Avalon coordinates the carrier or insurer review. When loss, theft, or transit damage is accepted, the available remedy may be repair, replacement, or refund up to the invoiced value, according to the findings and applicable law.
Before payment or dispatch
